LETTER OF INTRODUCTION FROM PORTSMITH
On behalf of CradlePoint’s Handheld Business, please accept our sincere thanks for your business partnership with us over the past number of years. It has been our privilege to participate in your delivering of mission-critical equipment and services to your clients. Thank you for trusting our unique communications cradles and adapter products to maximize the value of the handheld mobile computers which often deploy the applications & services which set you apart from your competition.
We are absolutely committed to the continuous improvement of our company’s operations, products and services. We know that our success depends on that of our Value Added Reseller partners. With these goals clearly in mind, the team at CradlePoint’s Handheld Business is very pleased to announce that effective February 7th, 2011 the business has been spun off from CradlePoint and is continuing operations as ‘Portsmith Technologies’. Portsmith is owned and operated by a number of us who for the past many years have led and managed the Handheld Business of CradlePoint. We are solely focused on the development, manufacturing and support of unique communications accessories for mobile computing applications around the world. CradlePoint will continue its focus on products and services for the Mobile & Enterprise 3G/4G Broadband Router markets.
The Portsmith team is led by Allen Bates, CEO (previously VP Ops at CP); Jason Bridwell, VP Sales; and Herb Feinstein, VP Business Development. Additionally, a number of talented engineering and support professionals from CradlePoint’s Handheld Business are now members of the new Portsmith organization. This includes Portsmith Europe a subsidiary of Portable Power Solutions, led by Mark Roberts, MD.
Portsmith will continue to be a member of the Motorola ValidatedPLUS Provider program whereby all of the Portsmith-branded cradles and adapters will continue to be formally validated by Motorola Solutions, Inc. for use with each respective Motorola handheld device. Furthermore, Portsmith will continue to manufacture, stock, and support all of the products listed on the attached product list (Exhibit A). Over the next number of months, Cradlepoint branding will be replaced by Portsmith branding on all of our products. Additionally, Portsmith will be actively developing new accessory products for use with mobile computers from all of the industry leading mobile computer manufacturers in the coming months.
